As explained under the heading "Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery" on our website, our doctors are uniquely trained to administer all levels of sedation and anesthesia.  This training is part of the oral and maxillofacial surgery residency as well as ongoing continuing education.  Because of our extensive and rigorous training, our specialty has documented the excellent record of safety with outpatient office anesthetics.  Because no hospital is involved, overall health care costs are greatly reduced through this process as well.  Office anesthetics offer an affordable, safe option for most of our procedures, including dental implant, wisdom teeth, or bone grafting.  For example, almost all patients who undergo removal of wisdom teeth choose to be sedated with intravenous anesthesia medication and state-of-the-art monitoring equipment.
